Giant Squid

When I was little, my sister would scare me by telling me about the giant squid that lurked in the depths of the ocean. Fast-forward 15 years and creatures of the deep still fill me with fascination and horror. And lo! Finally we have footage of the mysterious sea monsters. Biologist Edith Widder apparently hypothesized that the enormous lights strapped to deep-sea contraptions was scaring the beasts away. She developed a exploratory machine with red lights (harder for deep-sea creatures to see) that shoots off bio phosphorescence and attracts giant squid! So anyway, read all about it here.
